I worked for a public accounting firm that has about 50 employees. It seems like one person a week has quit since the middle of March. Which should speak for within itself.
In June, we have informal promotions and formal promotions in December. I was supposed to get promoted last December but was passed over. I took it in the chin and worked hard to prove myself. Last week they announced who would get promoted and I wasn’t on that list. They had passed me over once again for an inexperienced accountant. Being the irrational person I am, I quit.
During my talk with the partner, they promised me the promotion if I stayed. They also told me they wanted to make this person happy and didn’t want them to leave. They didn’t think I would make fuss, much less quit. I politely declined their offer and left.
Leaving has been so reliving!
