Quit underpaid and overworked job and made 3x the income with another employer, and then travelled for 6+ months!

When first starting with the original company it wasn't bad, but over the years there were many management shifts that came with multiple cuts in pay, added job responsibilities, and more “busy work” (irrelevant spreadsheets, unnecessary meetings, even irrelevant training (beyond the typical compliance stuff). I put up with it, until Covid hit in 2020. I then was asked (made me feel obligated) to stay behind as the ONLY “essential” employee. I ended up working 29/30 days that month, wearing multiple hats, doing multiple people's jobs. I then got a pay check that month less than my regular checks had been (since a percent of my pay was based off commissions, being side tracked doing other people's jobs left me with less overall pay). I just traveled 6+ months seeing national parks, beaches, and state parks. I'm about to go back to work for the second company, and am so pumped to give them my all. If every company treated their employees fairly and with respect, they would reap the rewards back from their employees ten fold.
