After spending 20 years in the restaurant industry I finally quit 3 years ago. I was an assistant GM for 5 of those years and when it came time for me to get promoted to GM all hell broke lose. I actually got written up for being a single mom of a disabled child and having a sister. They literally wrote my child’s name on a write up. It was all politics. Someone else wanted my promotion, and guess what, he got it. After he became my superior and treated my like yesterday’s garbage I had had enough. I quit.
