I decided a few months ago to move out of state. I have been struggling with the decision to give my work a notice. I was planning on it up until 3 weeks before my last day. But my boss being his usual self, is constantly bitching about things that are out of my control. He’s very passive aggressive in the way he complains. It’s very frustrating and it’s very unprofessional.
A year into the job a position opened up. I was told I’d be a shoo in for the job. They ended up hiring someone from outside the company and they had to fire him within a year cause he was terrible at the job.
I am finally given the chance to move up. Only problem is they can’t find someone to fill my old spot. So I ended up doing my old job for 6 months all while training for my new job. I was just expected to pick up all the stuff from my old job since I was the most knowledgeable on that job. Even though everyone in our department is capable of doing it, I was stuck doing 2 jobs. I was never compensated for having to do 2 jobs for 6 months.
After 6 months of doing 2 peoples jobs, they finally hired someone for my old position. I had to help train them, which took time away from my new job. Even though I was still training the new guy, I outsold the other salesman who has been doing this job for 10 years. My first 3 full months on the job, I outsold him. I took a week off 1 of those months and 12 days off in another. Still outsold him by far. No one in our company wants to work with him because he has a terrible attitude and the manager has let him get away with it for ever. This leaves me picking up all the slack.
We are supposed to get an annual raise based on our performance. We just got the raise this month. While I am grateful for the raise, I don’t think it was enough for the amount of work I had been doing. And it came 5 months late.
So I deceived not to tell them I’m leaving. My last day is tomorrow and I’m supposed to work on Saturday. I’m telling them I’m moving tomorrow after my shift. I can’t wait to see the look on their faces when they realize they are losing their most productive employee. Tired of working for the corporate man.
TLDR. Been treated like crap for 3.5 years so I’m quitting my job With no notice.
