I currently work in construction doing fire sprinklers, for some I know it's a rewarding career but since like September of 2021 I've been trying my best to learn my job but on the other hand I'm confused half the time and I feel that I'm incompetent. My company is rather small and the crew Im with doesn't truly feel like they really give a shit. I work with an older dude in his late 40s and he's starting to show his age and his body isnt in the best of shape, he takes things the wrong way, he hounds me every single day and I've gotten to the point I'm just done. Another guy I work with is younger, younger than me and he's already an area foreman but he's arrogant, douchy, acts like he's mr know it all and thinks he's hot shit because he' immature as fuck and been with the company longer. Also, he pushes me and this other apprentice around and blatantly puts us down but when we say something he has a short temper and threatens us, hes so fucking obnoxious. I was also completely honest with myself and to our supervisor and informed him of the workplace shenanigans, yet nothing's been done except for his ass getting verbal warnings and written up. I know I sound like a little bitch but when I started I wasn't expecting to be harassed, mistreated, and on the verge of quitting. Now this has left a bad taste in my mouth and has made me not wanna be around any form of construction doesn't matter. I just wanna find something I love and wanna pursue and make a LIVING WAGE. My foreman called me today after I had let him know I was quitting and was literally on indeed looking at jobs and telling me where I could apply he was also telling another person in the job I was leaving and explaining the details, and I honestly just felt burdened with guilt. It's like they're pushing me away. Idk about anybody else but past few years I've been in the workforce and every job I had was similar in regards to being pushed away or not good enough for your employer so they just keep coercing you into leaving.
