I started a new job, in my field (animal care) out of desperation 4 months ago (I didn't have a job at the time, had a rough patch).
Owners seemed great at first. Really floofed my ego. Promoted me to supervisor after 4 months.
And then they demoted the other supervisor, but wanted him to say he stepped down. They fired people for little things, after their 30 day reviews. They also talk shit on everyone. Me as well, I can only imagine.
They have almost completely stopped coming in, and put it on me to make sure the shit sails smoothly. When they do come in, it's like a giant test we all are failing. Nothing is good enough. But with a staff working 6 days a week, 50+ hours, for months straight…what do you expect?
We only have 6 employees for a 7 day 12hr/day week. They say no one has “been qualified” to be interviewed. This is an entry level job.
Everyone quits. Owners are increasingly getting more shady. I just wish I had waited for something else. Because now I can see them making a huge deal about promoting me only for me to quit. This all isn't worth the low pay, no benefits, no hope for a paid vacation.
Wish I didn't need money so bad to accept one of the first jobs I saw.
