To provide background, we have been trying to get our company to use direct deposit for well over a year. The company is based in New York and currently mails checks across the country to California. This was the response from HR as to why we can not use direct deposit:
“It appears the issue is that our bank does not have enough locations in [the city of our office location] to satisfy the California guidelines. We use [bank name].
I am not certain when we would be able to change banking locations.
Sorry I don’t have better news!”
