I was always different as a kid. I saw the world for what it was and as I started to grow up I noticed that my parents struggled working 9 to 5 jobs both having college degrees but still not being able to get by. I didn’t work until I was about 24, because I said “what’s the point if I’m just gonna struggle like my parents did”. Eventually I talked to one of my friends who got into the trades. He was making great money, running jobsites and was pretty much is his own boss. The beautiful thing about a trade is no matter how different or how many charges or what other people think of you no one can ever take that skill away from you. Last year I started my own electrical company and I work for my wife’s tree service. Ever since I went out on my own and learned skills that no one can take away from me, I have made more money than I ever have in my life. I’m not talking about millionaire money but I am talking about being able to live comfortably and not worry about paycheck to paycheck. I make sure all of my guys make a living wage and we constantly talk about the pay structure. I am completely transparent about what I’m charging for jobs, putting back into the company and re-investing into them and teaching them the trades so that no matter what no one can control them. I took in my older brother who I saw was struggling working at a restaurant for some shitty boss who was going on vacations every two weeks and I told him to come to my side. I was so scared that I wasn’t gonna make it I took a huge leap of faith. Right now I’m in my second year of business with my brother and I just hired on my best friend and my younger brother. If you guys are sick of having to deal with your bosses bullshit or having to deal with some asshole who treats you like you’re nothing, go learn a trade if you were physically capable to. In the next 20 years there will be a definite shortage of tradesmen and I think that if we fill this void we can seize the means of production for all these rich assholes that need their house fixed or buildings worked on/built. I know the next 20 years seem bleak but if you take the time right now, go to trade school & learn something that no one else can take from you! I think it would help the anti-work situation tremendously
