oh boy, buckle up. Sent that resignation… and never got a reply. Resent it again Monday and copied my supervisors boss (my immediate supervisor is notorious for “missing” emails). An hour after my day ends, her boss is blowing up my phone. Ignored it. This morning I was off and she's blowing up my phone again so I stupidly answered because I wanted her to leave me alone. She immediately starts yelling at me about how immature, childish, and unprofessional I am…. How dare I resign like that after everything she has done for me ‐ she's done LITERALLY NOTHING for me. Ever. Claimed I didn't send an email Friday, couldn't believe I had the balls (not her exact words but I don't remember how she exactly phrased it) to be off today when I knew I was resigning.
I just let her go, knowing she gets off on this stuff and even more so if she thinks she is getting under someone's skin. Like she's 100% going to puff herself up when she regales her cronies about telling me off.
“We never got your email on Friday.” – “That's why I resent it.”
“I can't believe you didn't call me back last night.” “Ok.”
Rants and raves about my immaturity – “ok.”
“Do you have anything to say for yourself?” “Nope.”
“Don't even think about using us as a reference, we won't give you a good one.” “Alright.”
Makes for a way less interesting story when I gave her nothing, which pissed her off even more.
Then because she's so pissed about me not giving a full two weeks notice, she fired me. Effective immediately – tells me I need to return my equipment by end of day and hangs up on me.
I go about my business, drop my stuff off and she doesn't even have the balls to meet me herself and sends someone else down. I go home, immediately send an email to HR requesting documentation as to why I was termed, any disciplinary actions, write ups, etc. from my file and will be filing for unemployment from today til I start my new job. They also held my first weeks pay and I told them I expect that next pay cycle and if not, I want documentation as to why their not paying me. I already know they're gonna fight me tooth and nail over every single penny and I've got nothing to do with my time right now.
I let the rest of my team know how things went down because I know they'll twist things around to make me the asshole. In doing that, I found out 5 of the 8 are actively seeking employment elsewhere and one may be putting their resignation in as soon as next week – just a matter of getting their new start date.
Kinda wish I could be there to watch the ship sink but am more excited to get out.
