Retirement doesn’t have to be a dream. It’s possible for many of you.

When I first started working, I felt the same as many in this sub. I hated my life, didn't see a way out, and contemplated suicide. But it doesn't have to be that way. I know it's easy to scoff at 1% billionaires as only getting there through luck. And it's true, they mostly did. But just because you need luck to get to the 1%, that doesn't mean top 10% isn't possible without it. That would be a damn good life for anyone. It's not just “easy to say,” either. Simply knowing certain information can make almost anyone succeed. I'm talking WITH student loans and zero financial help. It's not just “easy to say,” either. Simply knowing certain information can make almost anyone succeed. I'm talking WITH student loans and zero financial help.

In my industry, and basically any that deals with state or federal government contracts, they often stipulate a hiring budget that requires a number of people on it. Even if you suck, anyone with a degree in that field can make it because they just need bodies in seats to fulfill the contract. If you're stuck unable to find “entry-level” work with a degree, please don't give up, they're out there and you just need someone to tell you it exists. I sit next to people who dip for 3 hour lunches, they know they ain't getting fired. You can't make it on min wage so it's necessary to know how to game the system.

Once you do find a spot, learn the tricks around investing in 401ks and IRAs. You might think it takes 50 years of saving $20k to earn $1mil right? With compound interest, that shit only takes 20, with inflation accounted. That's 30 fucking years less work!

I personally felt like my life had been lifted from hell when I learned how to exploit this. Don't assume life is over and resent those who are better off, use your brain to find a way out. If you find it difficult to learn financial literacy, shoot me a DM on any questions you have. Unless you literally have ten maxed credit cards, if you're a normal functioning adult I think you have what it takes. It's not about working hard, but knowing where to direct your efforts.
