Return to office email

My manager that I have no contact with other than signing my paycheck sent a mass email about returning to the office and coming in 2-3 times a week. I work for a tech outsourcing firm for the past 6 months and have been contracted to my first project for a month. My job has been completely remote. I practically have no contact with the outsourcing firm since I have been put on on my project. I would be going to the outsourcing firm office, not even the office of the company I’m contracted out to. My project team has people across the world. Nobody at my firm that is contracted to the same team as me is even in the same state. Our only contact is online even if I go into the office. So it makes absolutely no sense to go to the office. I can’t quit yet…

I would be going to the outsourcing firm office, not even the office of the company I’m contracted out to. My project team has people across the world. Nobody at my firm that is contracted to the same team as me is even in the same state. Our only contact is online even if I go into the office. So it makes absolutely no sense to go to the office. I can’t quit yet because I have very little experience and it took me 7 months just to find this job. This is just a job to get my foot in the door into the industry.

My state just lifted its mask mandate, but that doesn’t mean covid is over and I’m still cautious and worried about getting it. I don’t want to take the unnecessary risk. Also, commuting to do work that I can and have been doing at home is pointless. I would like advice on what to say about why I don’t want to go into the office when the conversation is eventually brought up and not put my job in jeopardy. Thanks
