Backstory: I have ADHD and a learning disability and frankly, the job I have now is not a good fit. But, I can do it and do it well. I have been with my company for 14 years, this department for 7. No write-ups or any issues.
I asked for accommodations in May, and some were offered although they were kind of nonsense given my learning disability.
I was out most of July (worked only 4 days) due to being hospitalized for COVID pneumonia. Returned to work yesterday (WAH), still sick but not wanting to take STD. Today, I was hit with a CAP. The CAP says my work the last couple months is inaccurate and inefficient. We are only staffed at 60%, so yeah things are not going to be stellar under those circumstances. Also, one of the comments made during my discussion with our manager today was that my “coworkers had to cover for me while I was out.” Right, well, due to being HOSPITALIZED that was necessary.
This job is detestable. They literally monitor every keystroke and you have a meeting once a month where they will ask you about why your computer was idle for 4 minutes and 17 seconds three Tuesdays ago. It’s a toxic hellscape.
Anyway, my partner says it’s discriminatory on its face. I’m not sure if it’s worth pursuing a complaint.
Thoughts?
