I'll be talking to a former employer today about returning two years after retirement to pick up a 2-4 month project.
Backstory: I worked for them as a contractor through an agency for a total of 4 years, 2016-2020. Covid knocked their legs out from under them and as the only agency temp I caught the first layoff. No animosity, actually just the opposite. Being full retirement age the ex convinced me to file for SS benefits and call it a career. And I did.
Returning for a few months would be mutually beneficial. It would let me put off hitting the IRAs for a few more years. Put back a little structure in my life. As before it would be 50% or more WFH.
So I'm open to it but I am going to try real hard to hold the line on rate (no agency, give me half their markup) and conditions (50% WFH minimum.)
Wish me luck comrades!
