I am a salaried worker, I recently was in the hospital for a week and I am not able to go in to the office for another week. I am still expected to answer my phone, deal with all staffing issues, keep up on my email and go to any virtual meetings. They will not pay me for any of my time because I am not in office and able to perform 100% of my job so I have refused to do any of what they have asked. I normally put in 50-60 hours a week, I am on call 24-7, not allowed to go anywhere more than an hour away unless it is scheduled vacation time and I don't get paid any extra for that, how come if I miss time I don't get paid at all? One would think that when they tell you that your pay is the same no matter how many hours you work that I would get paid the same across the board… especially if I am expected to do so much from home.
