Screening candidates by looking at their social media profiles should be illegal unless the candidate provided that account on their resume/application

It’s seriously ridiculous. It’s like these companies expect us to be 100% professional 24/7 as if we aren’t allowed to have a life. Not only that but if an interviewer sees something on your social media profile they are biased against or don’t like they can just make up some BS reason to disqualify you. What someone does outside of work shouldn’t matter as long as they aren’t harming others and aren’t being racist, sexist, homophobic etc.
