Hello, first off, thanks for even reading this. I recently started a new job in a new city. I have been working for about 3 months. This wouldn’t be that big of an issue, but I have also been struggling with living in a location with no family and friends. So, I was going to use my remote time to travel and visit friends. I am a veteran and struggle with mental anguish. My family mentioned the idea of moving back home and getting a new job that way I could have a support network again. If I plan on moving, and I apply to new jobs, would it be unethical to say I have been with my current company longer than I truly have been? Also, would using my friend (someone who does not actually work for my company, as my manager would most likely be a bad reference since they will be upset when I leave the company) as my work reference? I would obviously give them notes on what I was working on here. Thanks for reading if you did.
