Hello, first off, thanks for even reading this. I recently started a new job in a new city. I have been working for about 3 months. Initially, I was told that the work was going to be part time remote part time in office. Then our president decided that every employee needs to return to office starting March 1. This wouldn’t be that big of an issue, but I have also been struggling with living in a location with no family and friends. So, I was going to use my remote time to travel and visit friends. I am a veteran and struggle with mental anguish. My family mentioned the idea of moving back home and getting a new job that way I could have a support network again. The only issue is, I want to use this company as work experience on my resume (I’m a team lead). If I plan on moving, and I apply to new jobs, would it be unethical to say I have been with my current company longer than I truly have been? Also, would using my friend (someone who does not actually work for my company, as my manager would most likely be a bad reference since they will be upset when I leave the company) as my work reference? I would obviously give them notes on what I was working on here. Thanks for reading if you did.
