Shafted by my new boss

This happened just a few hours ago. I worked for my now ex employer once before but ended up leaving due to a better job offer (3 days off and about 15k more.) I made sure to leave on good terms because I had nothing against the guy he just could not offer me the same wage as a bigger company. A few weeks ago he rings me telling me he has expanded his business and needs a reliable manager to run his new location in 4 weeks time and he thought of me. Because I like the guy I tell him I will come across if he matches my pay which he agrees to do.

I give my 2 weeks at my job and decide to take 2 weeks holiday because I have some money saved up and I want to spend more time with my kid.

A couple days into my holiday he rings me and tells me a manager of one of his other locations has had a stroke and he asks if I would be willing to jump in there to hold down the fort until she recovers, again I like the guy so I decide to start early to help him out.

I spent the first week fixing his team and making sure everything is stable in the venue so he wont have to stress when the new spot opens. I even offer to watch over the two venues for him until the manager who had the stroke is back on her feet and able to return to work.

Today (halfway point for week 2) he interviews a guy for the position he hired me for, gives him the position and tells me if the can force the manager who had a stroke to take a casual position so he doesn't have to pay sick leave he'll keep my on but he hasn't got room for all three of us so if she comes back I won't have a position anymore but it would be great if I could hang around and see if there will be a spot for me.

After a brief discussion I established where he can stick that idea. Guess I am back on the job hunt.

Edit – Because I don't proof read.
