Sharing this while I still can

Just got a year long contract to work with a local nonprofit through AmeriCorps. I’ll be doing the things I truly love that will help my community climb out of poverty and I’m really grateful for this opportunity. But in my onboarding process, I was told of all the things I can’t participate in due to the Hatch Act and this being a federal agency. One of which being “pro-labor or anti-labor organizing.” And this applies while I’m on AND off duty. I’m sorry, wtf dude. Defending the rights of the working class is like the foundation of all of my beliefs and idk how deeply this rule affects what I can say and do.
