Had a new boss come in around early April. I never had a good feeling about him but some stuff happened where I'm seriously questioning if I should resign due to his actions.
I'm not going to specify my job but TL;DR I ended up leaving some unfinished work behind for the people that were coming in right after me. It sounds scummy but I was working all by myself and was feeling nauseous from the upper 90 degree heat so I just tidied up the workspace for them, and made sure they had arrived and started finishing up what I had left behind. (And that they were okay with it, which they were)
I figured multiple closers ready for their shift are much better suited than me all by myself probably suffering from heatstroke exhausted from the end of mine.
The next morning my boss called me in and was pissed that I did that. He said how he had to do all the work himself, and then questioned “how much time did I stall before my shift was up”
I told him 10 mins, and he said that it was actually 15 and he had set up hidden cameras to watch his employees a while back without telling any of us.
I recalled that I made sure the closers had arrived and were doing the work and that I hadn't seen my boss anywhere before leaving. I further questioned them when they showed up the next time and yes, they recieved no help whatsoever from our boss.
So in short, my boss lied to my face to make me feel bad about him working (fuck that chipmunk-looking POS btw) and then he may or may not have installed hidden camera not for security reasons but to watch employees, all without notifying us at first.
