Should I call sick to spend more time with family?

20yo student living and studying abroad spending time at home for 3 weeks. As you can imagine it’s been a long time since pandemic. I work part time at a bank. During the summer they gave us the opportunity to work full time because they’re cruelly understaffed thus a lot of policies changed (I’ll have less freedom and time for university). They hire a lot of students to save money and I feel like we have to take the burden of their poor management. I’m seeing my dad again and was wondering whether I should call sick 1 or 2 days this week just to spend more time together. Never called sick at a job in my life (this is my 9th job). At the same time I got a small clash with HR (launched a group rebellion after a additional policies) and did a (very) bad mistake at work…

At the same time I’m on top of my team regarding performance.

  1. Is that fair or is this a not so smart move?
  2. Do I risk getting fired easily if I call sick for a few days although I’m fine

I rarely cheat the system so I need extra opinions. Thanks everyone!
