Got hired on to be a pool cleaner about 2 weeks ago. Job is for MWF 5 hours a day, easy casual side work. There should have been 5 days to train me, however the kid (24 y/o) training me was only able to come 2 days. I have NO clue what I’m doing. I do not feel responsible for these pools as I have not been properly trained. Yet they want me to go alone, do backflows and change chemicals… I could burn/hurt someone or burst a pipe. I’m not trained! Now the owner told me to call her son to set up a time for training… shouldn’t the company have been prepared to train me? Since they put “will train” in their job posting? Seems like a lot of red flags and I’m thinking of just taking the equipment and leaving it in the owners yard. I wanted to do this job but they are setting me up to fail. Should I ghost??
