Should I put my head in the lion’s mouth?

I’ll keep it as short as possible. Context: So currently there is a cross departmental project at my company, although there is a senior (Person A) the department nominated me because I know the project’s subject inside out. And also because A is completely incompetent, he casually forgets tasks and then delegates them in short notice to yours truly (which is why I have been looking for months to leave). Project manager (Person B) has received tremendous help from me and others in the project (halfway through the deadline which is 6 months) but she will be terminated because her manager (Person C) thought she was underperforming. Now the dilemma: They want to replace her internally. Without me expressing any interest, B herself told me that it could be a good development step for me and could say good words to C for me. So currently there is a cross departmental project at my company, although there is a senior (Person A) the department nominated me because I know the project’s subject inside out.

Now the dilemma:

They want to replace her internally. Without me expressing any interest, B herself told me that it could be a good development step for me and could say good words to C for me. Although she also said this job cannot be done without overtime.

The job will pay better and by knowing the project well, I have enough leverage to get a great salary out of it. However the place is already toxic and I don’t want to commit myself to the company. Plus C is not a supportive manager (or someone that pays overtime) so I will be forced to pick up the pieces of someone’s half assed work and receive minimal help from my new or old department (because A is an unreliable dumbass).
