Should I quit my current job or not…

For starters I work in hotel maintenance and as of right now I make $22 an hour working 40+ hours a week in a luxury hotel that is generally a great place to work, except my boss who is over my department is an asshole. He is stressful to talk to and I have honestly lost sleep over worrying what this man is going to find wrong with my work from the previous day and what he is going to say to me about it. Doing what he says is never enough, there’s always a reason for him to say that I didn’t listen to him no matter how hard I try to do exactly what I was assigned to do. Asking him questions is a nightmare as his response is always why don’t I already know the answer to the question I just ask him, and he told me…

Asking him questions is a nightmare as his response is always why don’t I already know the answer to the question I just ask him, and he told me that if I ask someone to show me something that’s not me learning anything. So basically do it on my own or I’m screwed.

I recently got an opportunity of a job at a much smaller and older hotel. It has all been remodeled and everything like plumbing and ac and electrical are under contract, meaning most larger problems aren’t something I have to worry about, I just call the vendor to come service what’s needed. It’s a 5 minute drive from my apartment and no pool to take care of. The benefits are the same and my position will essentially be the same. A couple of perks for me is working with less people and the hotel is supposed to be haunted haha. The downside is I’ve only been offered $20 an hour. I’ve got a meeting with them on Tuesday and I’m going to try to get it up to $22 an hour or even $21, but I’m also tempted to take just $20, it might be worth it to get away from my current boss.
