I work part time while being a full time college student. Basically I tutor high school students on high level math as well as physics, since the subjects are related to my college major.
The job doesn’t have a direct deposit set up (red flag?) and basically my boss sends me the money via Zelle every two weeks when I get paid. The problem is it has been basically every time that I’m supposed to get paid and he takes days, and I mean DAYS to send me my pay for the hours I worked for the previous 2 weeks. For example, it is currently march 3rd and I still haven’t gotten paid. The exact pay date every month is supposed to be on the 1st and 16th. On February I didn’t get paid until the 19th. It always takes 2-3 days after the actual set pay date for me to get paid. It’s getting so ridiculous and I am honestly at the point right now of just quitting on the spot because it pisses me off so much. Why is he paying me whenever he feels like it? I have things to pay for. I don’t even think this is legal? Almost every time I have let him know I am waiting to get paid and I would ask him when he plans on paying me. This happens almost every 2 weeks. So this is something that I have mentioned to him multiple times. I live in Virginia if that’s useful.
I’ve worked many part time jobs as a college and high school student and never had this kind of payment system where my boss directly sends me the money, let alone send it days late. Any advice please?? Sorry for the bad grammar lol.
