Should I take it?

So, I recently got offered to work in a unionized job, the benefits in there are surreal, holiday pays, excellent health insurance, and many more. Currently, I work overnights job and the pay is around $18.50 an hour, but the job that offered me pays $15 an hour. Both of them are full time. The union is great, but the downfall of it is that they pay $15 an hour, much less on what I am paying for the current job I have. I really need something to get out of the overnight shift, but the managers here have the reputation of dancing around the requests to change the schedule or transfer. So I feel like I am in a sticky and stuck situation. What should I do?
