Shouldn’t my boss be teaching me this?

So I work at a fairly large nonprofit in department that helps people get job. This department is broken up into a division that works eith high school students teaching them job skills and get their first work experience (my job) and a division that helps adults get jobs. When I got this position, I was fairly honest about the fact that I have teaching experience but no job development experience. So then it came time to start setting up my kids with jobs, and my boss (who over sees the high school side) just kind of expected me to figure out how to do that on my own. When I pointed out that I have no idea what I'm doing and I can't do a job that I wasn't trained to do, my boss got really mad and accused me of lying about my experience when I got the job.

So early this week, after about a month of me failing to figure things out on my own, the head of the whole department stepped in and asked someone from the adult employment side to step in and actually train me. On one hand, I appreciate that someone's trying to give me the help I need but on the other hand, I feel bad that one of my coworkers who already has a ton of work is being asked to do what I think should be my bosses job, when my boss is kind of just doing nothing–even just looking at the work I know she's doing and what she thinks is reasonable to expect me to do, she doesn't really do that much.
