First of all my job doesn't technically have sick days, but I'm curious to see people's opinions on the following situation. A coworker of mine called in sick a few days ago. She was throwing up constantly so definitely good reason to call off. Well our boss asked her to find coverage for the day and the following day if she was still going to be sick and was kind of rude about it.
Now, I get if you have a planned vacation you should find subs since you know you'll be gone. But in situations like this when you're suddenly very ill, should it really be your responsibility to find employees to work? My thoughts are if you're sick you're sick, and the boss needs to find coverage. Especially since you're not being paid to call people to try to get them to come in. I don't know, it just kind of put me off.
