I have two jobs right now and both of them became hell on earth when we became short-staffed. Why do these employers think the ongoing answer to understaffing needs to be “just give that work to so and so to get it done!” Guess what? So and so is already working full-time on their own job and doesn't have time to take on another job for no pay!! All of a sudden I'm responsible for all this extra work for no pay!!
Note to employers: understaffing might mean you can't really provide that service anymore. Stop telling two people to do the job of 50 while pocketing all the money you're saving on salaries!! But of course, why would you do that when you can slave drive the employees you do have straight into the ground while making the company richer?
