I work in a local cafe and it is fucking miserable at the moment. No one is getting along, things keep going wrong, my boss isn't helping, I'm the manager there and I'm sick to death of it all.
I'm sympathetic really. I'm not looking to beat the system, just cheat it. I may be naive but I think it's impossible to get rid of this thing called work. I do enjoy work, when it's rewarding and it's something I am genuinely interested in. My approach to life is all about finding the good in the bad. Taking the bad with the good. I've always viewed work as a necessary evil. If it disappeared, I wouldn't miss it, I've just learnt to enjoy it as it makes life easier.
Anyways, my workplace sucks at the moment and it feels like a sinking ship. I'm just trying to collect my paycheck, do the things required and go home. Nothing more, no unpaid commitments, always taking breaks, fuck letting these places exploit me anymore than they are. I suppose the point of this post is there any way to even try to bring my Co-workers morale up again? Work always fucking sucked, but we all got along so well. Nowadays, not so much. Work is breaking my heart but I at least want to find some escapism in the others around me again.
Everyone is just stressed out. Lots of people are on holiday or leaving and those new employees hired are just being thrown into the shit tornado, desperately trying to create some order of the debris. Too much is expected of them and its creating conflict with others.
