Skipping work next weekend despite being told I am not allowed if nobody picks up my shifts.

I work at my University. Standard front desk job, work 3-4 hours max a day unless I pick up a shift. Its like $9.30 an hour, average about 140$ paychecks (every 2 weeks). It honestly isn't enough to pay my bills, but I have enough saved up where its fine, and I'll be receiving more money. I also have a summer job lined up already (I'm super excited for it!). I only work 2 days a week and then Fri+Sat+Sun every other week. I have been 10 mins early every shift, and have been willing to stay longer if the next person doesn't show up. Which quite frankly, I've done 5 or 6 times so far in about a 3 month period. I let them know a couple weeks beforehand (I was the first to say I needed off) that I needed my Sat+Sun shift picked up as I was…

I let them know a couple weeks beforehand (I was the first to say I needed off) that I needed my Sat+Sun shift picked up as I was supposed to work next weekends, but I can't. Easter + my boyfriends birthday. He would be going to his family's house, which if he wasn't I could have gone to work. But seeing as we were traveling, no bueno.

So, today, (4/11), I reminded the chat (we have it on Microsoft Teams), that my shifts still needed to be picked up, after I noticed that they added *more hours* to my schedule, for saturday, despite the fact I never picked up any extra shifts. They gave it to me without saying anything. I was supposed to be scheduled 10a-12p. Now its added on 4p – 6pm, which I have to walk all the way across town to the second dorms (honestly only a 10-15min walk but its still annoying). They have residents living there which also work, no idea why they gave me the shifts.

One of the managers messaged me after I reminded because I said I would be leaving regardless if anyone took my shifts or not, that I *have* to get someone to take over for me..or work the shifts. I told her I was NOT missing Easter/Birthday, and she just said she got that, but reminded me they are short staffed, and I was not the only one. Which sucks for them because I'm not returning next semester. It may be the easiest job I've ever had, but they don't give me enough hours or pay me enough to frankly care.

I honestly can't wait for their response saturday when they find out I didn't come in. They're nice and all, but nah. I ain't missing this, sucks for you.
