Slight rant

I’m on the job hunt again and I’m trying to look for a remote job in accounting. Ziprecruiter, Indeed, and LinkedIn are the main job posting sites I use and it’s pissing me off. I’ve got about two years of experience, mostly through staffing agencies, and a lot of remote accounting jobs I’m coming across are Seniors, managers, directors, and generally anyone with 5-10+ years of experience and boomers. It kills me that boomer were crying all the time about on site working and going back to the office, and these assholes are the ones that companies want to offer remote work, my dad included. He never worked remote and didn’t want to but then he starts talking about how it would be great during winter. I expressed my frustrations about my difficulty finding the job I want and he said my generation needs to pay its dues instead of trying to find the easy way out. These bastards had the easy times of their lives, never needing to worry about college or college debt (for the most part; even then, things were a cake walk compared to what we’re going through now). I blew up and told him that his generation didn’t require a college degree but, if you had one, you had more options. As time went on and the demands of companies evolved, more was required from applicants: specific fields of study, more and more work experience, higher degrees, and certifications. You could see him going from angry that I blew up to sympathetic that many in my generation are expected to be chess champions while giving a checkers board with missing pieces.

Just needed to get that off my chest. Thanks for coming to my TED Talks (as if we haven’t seen or heard posts like this before)

Also, what’s the point of the auto fill option when you’re applying to a job, upload your resume, and you STILL have to fill in everything that’s on your resume.
