I am sick and tired of smaller businesses where i live (WA state) taking advantage of the disability/sickness and FMLA loop holes. There's anti discrimination and fmla laws for companies with 20 or more employees. If they are 19 people or less they have 100% freedom to say fuck your condition/illness/disability and fuck you. My fiance has had spinal damage from multiple car accident and has gastrointestinal issues that are ongoing and she always get treated like shit at her dog grooming positions. Most shops aren't chains they are locally owned. Now she is 6 weeks pregnant and it's even worse her boss straight up brushed off her request for light duty or to take extra breaks for her morning(all the time? Anytime?) Sickness. She is 100% in her right to discriminate too since small number of employees. Progress my ass.
