I come in and do my job and I focus on serving the customers as best as I can, but I'm not necessarily having fun with neither the management or other employees, who seem to enjoy standing around and playing on their phones etc. I'm not trying to judge them, nor say that they are not doing their job, but I'm not necessarily fitting into the scheme of things where everyone is just having fun and chatting with each other in down times. As per a lot of posts here, it seems like my work demeanor is not aligned with how people should be doing their job in the same age. Am I off? I don't pull up my phone and text nor look at random things on the internet in the downtime, I live by the code that when I am free, it doesn't necessarily mean that I'm free, because there is always something to do. I like to read a lot in this sub because it makes me realize that there are many things that we need to acknowledge as our rights as employees. But I also seem to see that there's a lot of sentiment toward doing the bare minimum? Maybe I misunderstanding some things. I'd love a little enlightenment, because I've been busting my ass to do a good job and I've been getting paid well enough for what I'm doing, and yet it seems the people around me do not share the same sentiment.
