So Lowe’s is now offering a four day work week…

But they designed it to fail. So they just rolled.out this new “four day work week”, but they way they are implementing it is dogshit. -Just for your info there are two “teams” in every Lowe's now MST who are vendor paid and their only job is to execute product resets and they service the store by fixing bays and making the place look nice. Then there is the Red Vests, this is the bulk of store employees who deal with customers and maintain their departments. MST has a M-F work schedule and Red Vests have “customer centric” scheduling (another absolutely asinine policy”) So how they rolled out this new policy is Red Vests can choose to go to a four day work week but None of the days can be consecutive and they were told to pretty much. Kiss their weekends goodbye. MST is offered a four day work…

IMO they are implementing this so that they can tout to the media how progressive they are but they are actively discouraging people taking the option of a four day work week by making it so inconvenient for them.

They can definitely support scheduling people in departments but Lowe's refuses to raise wages and hire more people.

I see them eventually getting rid of the option and being like “well we offered but no one wanted it”
