So we didn’t need those Vice Presidents?

Some years ago, I was employed at a community college. One year the states budget was tight, so they mandated that all agencies had to cut their budget by a certain percentage. I don’t recall exact percentage but it was significant. The college let go of three vice president’s. Which was a good decision on their part because if you let go of the poorly paid part-time no benefits people, you would have to let go of a ton of them to make a big difference. But it certainly brings to mind the question: If the college could so easily like go of those three vice presidents and not replace them, then why the fuck were they hired in the first place? (Hint: some big shot’s friend might have needed a good paying job.)
