Idk if this really belongs here but anyways I’m moving out of my parents soon and I’m doing pretty well but I’ve just been working a lot to save up rent money so I can have peace of mind. My coworker needed a shift covered today but I’m already working 5 days a week.
Anyways I just looked it up and california laws say if my manager allowed me to take that shift, I would be entitled to overtime pay. It’s not my managers fault, she use to be a team member too and I know she’s just trying to keep her job same as me.
This is so dumb ? Idk reminds me of my old job where they would cap your hours right under full time so they didn’t have to give you benefits. By the way that old job was 85 degrees which was recently exposed on this sub Reddit for not giving tips to the employees
Yeah anyways idk kinda frustrating
Edit
Covers have to be approved by the manager and my manager said no. I don’t think I can bypass her by just going in.
