For those that don't know Sasha Banks and Naomi, real names Mercedes Varnado and Trinity Fatu, were the WWE Women's Tag Team champions. Last Monday while preparing for Monday Night Raw they were made aware of their booking for the night and were dissatisfied, according to most sources I've seen they felt that it would have weakened the belts they were holding and even according to WWE, “They claimed they weren’t respected enough as tag team champions,”
However, according to another source when they attempted to address their issues a second time they were met with a higher up in the company screaming at them and essentially telling them to shut the fuck up and know their place.
In my opinion these two did exactly what this sub preaches. They refused to devalue their work or to be abused.
Without overstating things, given their statuses and connections they'll be fine even if they end up leaving WWE, but I still think that this was a brave move and should be celebrated by the Antiwork movement.
Of course it could also be an elaborate play to draw eyes to the product, but either way Fuck Vince Mcmahon and the way WWE treats their wrestlers.
