Some Shitty Mediterranean Schedules

I work in a store since 2018. I am working 30hrs a week but since march of 2020 the company decided to change our schedule. Until then the store was open from 10:00 to 21:00 pm and we some days we were working 10 to 17, other days 14 to 17. We manage to have some good shifts, despite the irregularity of that. From March of 2020 to now, the store is open from 11:00 to 14:00, and from 17:00 to 21:30. Try to figure how set 30hrs on this schedule with two days off (Sunday, because the store is closed + another random day on the week). The worst part is that the company told us that they are setting this schedule to our branch in order to cut some wages and save some money with the store off from 14:00 to 17:00. Our branch was not the best…

The worst part is that the company told us that they are setting this schedule to our branch in order to cut some wages and save some money with the store off from 14:00 to 17:00. Our branch was not the best in numb€rs and they told us that this decision was made to make up for that.

Now we are reaching better sales numbers because of many circumstances. We asked to return to the previous schedule and the company told us now that it would be nonsense. Not only that, we have 2 workers less than before, and hiring anybody “is not in the agenda”.

I think this kind of schedule is common in many stores in South Europe. On the other hand there is a popular idea that south Europeans are bad or lazy workers. My question is:

Can anybody sustain motivation at work and please and treat each customer well with this kind of schedule?
I'm the only one that sees this schedule near criminal?

P.S. Since the schedule change, I have struggled with some serious anxiety issues. Motivated, I think by the lack of personal time on working days, i cant manage to do nothing but work on those days: work, home to lunch, work, dinner, sleep and repeat.

P.S.2 i have an university degree and a master degree (postgraduate). Finding a job in my country is hard, but in my state is near impossible due to high unemployment rate and most of the jobs in this area are low qualified.
