This isn't about me, or even a rage, more for your understanding.
Where I work, we have 3 different teams under one manager, 2 teams a specialised and 1 is general, each teams consisting of about 8 – 12 people.
The general team has an extremely high turn over, with people staying on average of 6-12 months (5 have left in the past 6 alone).
I approached our manager about the issue with everyone leaving and told them it was due to the generalists getting paid 20K less then industry standard their response was to the effect “it isn't a specialised job and whilst more people are applying it isn't an issue” and “it's a stepping stone, they're just going to move to another company for more money” 🤦
Our manager knows they're underpaying workers, doesn't care.
Know your worth and look out for yourself, as no one else will.
Before anyone says it, yes I'm already aware they don't care about me, but what I specialise in there is heaps of work.
