Been working a job in tech for 6 years at the bottom, interested in data and analytics, my teams manager quit due to work life balance issues new family with kid on the way.
Team has been without direct management for 8 months, wage offered was too low to hire some one they liked I guess.
They ended up asking me said they liked how I helped out and kept things together, offered me 20k raise from 50k to 70k to do it.
So I applied, Been about 2 months now that I have been unofficially in the role and have now been told they only have budget to give me half the raise, (10k), but will give me another 10k raise next year.
Still have not even seen a new contract, is this a thing or am I being taken for a ride.
