I manage a team of about 6 people who I feel weren’t getting paid enough. Overtime here is heavily taxed but also paid out at 125%. Last month was a busy month for us and some staff volunteered to work the weekends. I doubled their hours leading to some of the staff having up to 35 hours in overtime. In a way I’m already conning the system.
Now staff have complained about the tax rate which I can’t, legally, do anything about.
Besides that people who work in The Netherlands on average get 25 days off a month.
The staff member who has complained about tax wants his overtime registered and paid out over time so as to avoid tax (it doesn’t work that way) and he wants 7 weeks of holiday.
I’ve always been very anti-work and do whatever I can to make life easier for the staff. Get the employer to pay more, send them home early put register a full day’s work, etc.
I do really want to use my position to benefit people but I can’t commit tax fraud.
If anyone has advise on what you think you’d do in this situation I would be happy to hear
