I’m in a union. I have a role in the union. Yet despite that, there seems to be many times when other union members tell me that it would be better to be quiet about an issue or choose my battles. This made me think about the people who aren’t in unions and how hard it must be for them to ever speak up.
With that said, it would be cool if there was a collective of workers across all industries that would go to bat for anyone who needed it (a more focused version of this subreddit, perhaps). The affected individual could basically stay out of an issue if they felt their job was on the line, particularly if that issue affected a lot of workers and the “leak” couldn’t be traced back to them.
