I started a new job at a company I worked for in the past, 8 days ago. I have a surface level blood clot on my leg I've been monitoring for a few days and I decided to go get it checked out today. So I called in and they just said “okay but think about it before you make a decision, you're new and that doesn't look good.” I didn't tell a reason for calling in other than “hi I'm ___ I do __ I can't come in today, sorry.” I am very to myself and don't like explaining myself to people or keeping them posted so I prefer to not say why. It just left me feeling kinda icky. This is my 3rd year with the company altogether that's broken up by leaving 2 years ago. I'm new to this location and the higher ups there are addicted to the company. We have morning meetings that are so cult like that I can't stand to be at them. Yeah I'm 8 days in and yes it would be considered early and a bad impression if I actually gave a F about a company over my health and well-being. These places don't realize that while they are a landing pad for 40-60 year olds, people in their 20s have a whole different ballgame going on. I'm a full time employee and full time student with a side business as well as a gig worker. I'm not emotionally tied to this job and after I go see a doctor I may call some of the other places I applied to and try to get some interviews today & tomorrow. I was already going to be off tomorrow anyway but my main doctor wouldn't have been in office.
