I was looking for a copy of the employee handbook since I didn't have one so I googled it. This was the 2nd result and I started reading through it until I found this absolute gem of company policy under the “Pay Notice” section. I would have called the labor board already except that this is a 2020 version of the handbook, and I don't have access to a more recent version. I'm wondering if someone more knowledgable than me can say how the labor board would handle this since the violating document is outdated. Just for clarification: I DO NOT work at this specific Chic-fil-A. I don't even live in the same state, so I don't need to worry about retaliation. To my knowledge, the employee handbooks are…

So I started working at a Chic-fil-A recently, although not the same franchise that this post is about. I was looking for a copy of the employee handbook since I didn't have one so I googled it. Just for clarification:

I DO NOT work at this specific Chic-fil-A. I don't even live in the same state, so I don't need to worry about retaliation.

To my knowledge, the employee handbooks are revised by each individual franchise, so only this specific franchise is guilty of violating labor law.

I have the entire handbook downloaded, so no worries if the franchise somehow catches wind of this post and tries to delete it from the internet.

I'm leaving the franchise name revealed for transparency, but please do not and go harass them. I'm hoping that the labor board will be doing more than enough of that on its own. I guess you can boycott them if you want to, although that would probably hurt the employees working there more so than anyone else.
