Stop saying minimum wage should be a fixed value

First I’m going to be completely honest and say I might not agree with everything on this sub and not as far as everyone, but what I am a huge supporter of is raising the minimum wage. I however do hate seeing people say it should be 15 dollars or 30 dollars or any fixed number. In my mind the best solution would be for it to be some kind of formula to keep it updating and to keep up with inflation and cost of living. I feel like it should be the average cost of living, say taken every 10 years with the census ( for us at least) and they multiplied by some number to allow for disposable income and savings. then divided by however long you think a standard work week should be, be that 32 hours 40 hours whatever you support, also divided by number of weeks in a year. I feel like this system would be infinitely better then say, this number because we could get into a cycle like we are in now where minimum wage stays stagnant for a long time, this allows for it to be up to date more often.

Thank you and I would love to discuss this with anyone who wants to have a civil conversation.
