So For some context I work at a school district, and I do lots of work. I substitute, clean (this is important later), do some work in the kitchen etc. I guess you could say I’m just an all around worker.
So about a week ago I was working as a substitute for a class with a few kids in it, and they pretty much had a free day. The teacher left very little work for them, and once they finished it they kept the noise low and we’re quite respectful.
Eventually I got bored, and since the kids were behaving, I got on Reddit. I was scrolling, mostly just looking at cats and stuff, when all of a sudden the principal (a complete dickhead, btw) walks in to randomly check up on the class. He starts asking general questions, how’s the kids, what are they doing, is their work done etc. Eventually he decides all is normal and notices I’m on Reddit. Oh god did I pick a terrible place to stop scrolling.
Principal: What’s that?
Me: What?
Him: That website.
Me: uhh it’s a website called Reddit.
Him: oh yeah I’ve heard of that on FOX news. (this almost made me die laughing)
Me: uhh yeah…
Him: notices I was on this subreddit, I don’t know how since he’s such a damn boomer
“You know that place is full of lazy pricks, right?”
Me: not really, they’re just rational people.
Him: proceeds to tell me about the FOX interview
Me: dude just leave me alone
he proceeds to go on a rant about how I’ve always been such a lazy incompetent mess, and how I never do anything
Me: ok then, I quit.
Him: good! Now get out!
And so I left. Turns out that the next best person to clean the bathrooms was fucking incompetent. They ended up mixing literally bleach and ammonia in the toilets while trying to clean them, and they had to get some cleaners to come and clean the school out. It wasn’t that bad of an incident, but it was enough to make the principal miss me.
So he called me, asked me to come back, and when I kept saying no, he kept insisting. Eventually he got fed up, went on another rant, and hung up.
Needless to say I’m taking myself somewhere where I’ll be appreciated.
