Basically the title. While counting the register at the end of my shift a customer reached over and grabbed a handful. I told the store manager who was running the register across from me. He didn't ask what happened or if I was okay. I was fine btw. Then within a few moments kept asking with a store full of customers/witnesses how much did they get. I for one wasn't sure but more importantly even if I knew I didn't think it was appropriate to just say out loud.
Anyways it takes like 5 minutes for him to get to actually come over to me and the register which was robbed and he started mumbling about changing the procedure of counting the register, which included things that won't work, but that's besides the point. Then he calls his manager, it went straight to voicemail. He then texts.
Does he have me write a report? No. Does he even call the police? No. He simply figured out how much was taken and said he'd watch the tape and wait to see what his manager told him to do. And he just has me leave at the end of my shift as if a normal day. Like seriously?!
This manager has done a lot of questionable things but this takes the cake. No wonder he constantly has associates call off and leave early. I'm nearing a point where I don't feel comfortable working with him. Though I know if I quit or asked for a transfer it might look suspicious.
