Superintendent A threatened me with termination over superintendent B suggesting I join him on another jobsite.

I’ve worked at my company for a few months now since finishing up college. I have always been 15 minutes early to the jobsite, never messed anything up, worked as hard as possible, and as of today I have worked 12 days in a row for this particular superintendent. I’m really giving it my all for this guy working 12 hour days without giving him a hassle, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t even know my name. I was hired with the understanding that this would be a “foot in the door” type situation with my industry and I would be welcome to move on amicably as soon as a better job came up. Well today I got off early to interview for said better job, and I had the following interaction with my superintendent as I was signing out with him… Superintendent A: “So I’ll see you tomorrow or…

I was hired with the understanding that this would be a “foot in the door” type situation with my industry and I would be welcome to move on amicably as soon as a better job came up. Well today I got off early to interview for said better job, and I had the following interaction with my superintendent as I was signing out with him…

Superintendent A: “So I’ll see you tomorrow or what?”

Me: “Yes sir, but Superintendent B told me he might have me work on another jobsite with him tomorrow.”

Superintendent A: (Visibly angry) “How the fuck does that work? You work for me! He can’t take you off my jobsite!”

Me: “Okay well I guess that answers your question, I’ll see you here tomorrow.”

Superintendent A: “You’re damn right, and if you aren’t here tomorrow I will fill out the forms for termination! Do you understand?

Me: “Right on I’ll see you tomorrow, y’all be safe.”

This dangling of termination seemed inappropriate to me since I’m the lowest possible rung on the ladder, and I was simply relaying a suggestion from superintendent B to superintendent A. I’m the new guy around the job and I don’t know shit about fuck when it comes to how I get assigned to a superintendent.

What are y’all’s thoughts on this? I’m thinking about calling HR or asking to be taken off of Superintendent A’s jobsite. I can’t stand this type of bullying/ power trip BS from a boss.

P.S. sorry if my sentence structure isn’t the best. I’m rather upset and fixing to get ready for this interview. Wish me luck because landing this new job really would be my best way out of this situation.
