Take back holiday WFH? I quit on the spot.

Since Covid, my department has been letting people work from home (read:answering emails) the week between Christmas and New Years. They confirmed it was happening again this year. But then they told us TODAY that because numbers are down, everyone is now expected to come in on those days and they will NOT be accepting PTO (unless already approved). They tried to justify it with “oh Big Boss ™️ also had to cancel vacation plans too.” Sorry, not sorry, but I'm not cancelling my flights that have been booked for over a month just to sit in the office and do NOTHING for 40 hours that week. Because that is exactly what I know will happen. There was a lot wrong at this job already, but this was the final nail in the coffin. I went right back to my desk after the meeting and wrote my resignation letter. Needless…

I honestly even surprised myself… I've been applying to new jobs and considering leaving for a while, but I've never been this impulsive. Anyway, here's to a New Year and a new job (hopefully)! Happy Holidays everyone.
