Got a rejection letter, which I am actually happy they sent, its a rare thing to see these days most places just leave you hanging.
That being said, the points in the letter make it clear they didn't really look past my last job.
Reasons for rejection:
#1. No experience in industrial or construction safety… Sure if you ignore the combined 10 years I spent as a EHS manager for a local construction firm and paper mill.
#2. No degree or certifications in safety…. While I agree that my TappiSafe certifications are silly, I also have a degree in EHS, as well as several safety certifications starting with the OSHA 30 program and going into various certificates from various safety programs like ASSP and BCSP.
#3 I do not live in their area. I assume he looked at the address of my current employer here and just assumed that is the address that I work at ignoring that there could be a possibility of my current job being like theirs where there is a field office but you work at different sites. I assume this because the field office that posted the job is… Lets put it this way and say I have coffee with their security guard every morning without him leaving the fenced in area or me leaving my porch.
